International Bluegrass Music Museum Located on the banks of the mighty Ohio River in the RiverPark Complex, in historic, downtown Owensboro, Kentucky, the International Bluegrass Music Museum features both permanent and changing exhibits focusing on the bluegrass community, its festivals, concerts and events. IBMM is host to ROMP, the River of Music Party, an annual 3-day "museum style celebration of all things bluegrass". The event is held on the 4th full weekend of June. Be sure to check out IBMM's internet bluegrass music station!
IBMM supports such programs as mandolin camps and Bluegrass in the Schools, which since it's inception in 2003 has introduced more than 42,000 students to bluegrass music through eight days of hands-on instrument instruction and school assembly programs showcasing superb bluegrass bands -- annually, per school.
